(Text:Jian Jiping; Photos: Yang Bei)Recently, as part of the Excellence Navigation talent recruitment and cultivation series, Zhengzhou Advanced Research Institute of Harbin Insititute of Technology invited Professor Paolo Colombo, academician of multiple academies including the World Academy of Ceramics and Professor at the University of Padova, Italy, to deliver an academic lecture titled Additive Manufacturing of Ceramics from Precursors. Our Dean Minghui Liu attended the event and delivered a welcome address. Institute Council Member Hong Zhang also attended. The lecture was moderated by Professor Yunfei Chang, academic leader of the Young Scientists Studio.

In his presentation, Professor Paolo Colombo systematically introduced the latest research progress in the field of Additive Manufacturing of Ceramics from Precursors, focusing on process strategies utilizing various precursor materials to produce high-quality ceramic components. He provided a detailed and in-depth explanation of precursor design and preparation, additive manufacturing and heat treatment processes, and their application research in high-temperature and extreme environments. Our Institute's researchers and student representatives engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Paolo Colombo on related topics.
