(Text:Xu Sijia)Recently, the evaluation results of Henan Provincial Postdoctoral Stations for 2025 were officially announced. Among the 259 participating stations in the province, Zhengzhou Advanced Research Institute (ZARI) Postdoctoral Research Station stood out and was rated as an Excellent Postdoctoral Research Station (total 19 stations). This achievement not only highly recognizes the effectiveness of ZARI's postdoctoral platform construction but also fully demonstrates its systematic achievements and comprehensive strength in postdoctoral talent recruitment, training, research management, and service support.
Talents Strengthen the Institute, Platforms Build the Foundation. The Postdoctoral Reservoir Has Been Continuing to Expand and Improve. ZARI adheres to a talent-strengthening strategy, continuously promoting the expansion and quality improvement of the postdoctoral reservoir. With the support of provincial and municipal human resources and social security departments, ZARI successively established Zhengzhou Municipal and Henan Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Bases. In 2024, it successfully obtained approval for establishing a National Postdoctoral Research Station, achieving a triple jump in postdoctoral platform development and providing a broader stage for the growth of young scientific and technological talents.
Nurturing the Soil, Forging Strength. Remarkable Achievements have been made in Postdoctoral Team Building. ZARI has been continuously strengthening the construction of its postdoctoral talent team, comprehensively nurturing a fertile ground for postdoctoral growth and forging a dynamic postdoctoral force. To date, it has cumulatively cultivated nearly 90 postdoctoral fellows, including nearly 40 recipients of various talent program awards such as national high-level overseas young talents, EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Scholars, and Central Plains Talents. The postdoctoral fellows cultivated have been awarded over 80 national-level project grants, including over 20 General Programs and Youth Science Fund Programs (Category C) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, over 20 Special and General Funding from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and over 40 provincial-level research project grants. Additionally, 8 postdoctoral fellows have been selected as Science and Technology Deputy General Managers for Henan Province.
Innovation & Entrepreneurship Bear Fruit. Great Success has been made in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competitions. ZARI has been placing high importance on the innovation and entrepreneurship activities of its postdoctoral fellows, continuously improving training mechanisms and building platforms for achievement transformation. In the National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, it has won 1 Bronze Award and 2 Excellence Awards. In the provincial and municipal-level innovation competitions, it has won a total of 15 awards. In 2025, 10 postdoctoral fellows, including Zhibo Zhang, received individual commendations from the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Henan Province, and ZARI received a collective commendation, fully reflecting the research vitality and social contribution of the postdoctoral team.
Achievements serve as motivation and a new starting point. In the future, ZARI will continue to improve the full-chain mechanism of attracting, cultivating, retaining, and utilizing postdoctoral talents, solidly promoting the quality and efficiency of postdoctoral work. It will leverage the postdoctoral force to drive innovation, promote the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, and write a more splendid ZARI Chapter for high-quality regional socio-economic development.
