（Text&Photos:Qiao Linchuan）On December 9, the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Zhengzhou, honoring the recipients of 2024 Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards and other prizes.
The project Key Technologies and Applications of Precision Brazing for Lightweight and Complex Components, involving Professor Tiesong Lin from our Institute of Intelligent Welding Equipment and Manufacturing, was awarded the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, Special Prize (the only one in the province). This project achieved highly reliable and precise manufacturing and mature application of lightweight and complex components, solving manufacturing challenges for core components in key national projects and major equipment.

The Henan Provincial Science and Technology Award, established by the People's Government of Henan Province, is the highest award for scientific and technological achievements in the province. It aims to implement the provincial party committee and government's major strategic plans for science and technology, focusing on rewarding achievements with strong innovation leadership, prominent characteristic advantages, significant contributions to industrial transformation and upgrading and economic development, solutions to bottleneck technical problems, and enhanced core competitiveness.
In recent years, relying on high-quality resources within Henan Province, Zhengzhou Research Institute of HIT has deepened cooperation and exchanges with leading enterprises and research institutions, seeking real needs, solving real problems, promoting the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and achieving significant socio-economic benefits.

Tiesong Lin is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, HIT, the Executive Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Precision Welding & Joining of Materials and Structures, a research faculty member at the Institute of Intelligent Welding Equipment and Manufacturing, and a national high-level talent. His current research focuses on the development of new brazing filler metals, manufacturing of heat dissipation and heat homogenization components, welding of heterogeneous materials, and integrated manufacturing of complex components. He has won such awards as the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, and the Second Prize of the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, and has published over 100 SCI papers.
