(Text&Photos:Xiao Dian)Recently, the Sixth ASRTU China-Russia Conference on Innovative Food Science and Equipment was held in St. Petersburg, Russia. This conference was organized by Russian ITMO University (ITMO University) and co-organized by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and Zhengzhou Research Institute of HIT, attracting experts, scholars, young students, and industry representatives from China and Russia in fields such as food science, nutrition and health, and high-tech and equipment. Minghui Liu, Dean of Zhengzhou Research Institute of HIT, delivered a video address at the opening ceremony on behalf of the Institute. Professor Weihong Lu, leader of the Institute's Food Nutrition and Health Team, served as the Chinese Chair of the conference.

The conference focused on frontier topics such as High-Tech and Future Food and Innovations and Challenges in Nutrition and Health Research, covering core areas including intelligent food manufacturing, development of novel food resources, precision nutrition, food safety and detection technology, and sustainable food packaging. Participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on the latest research findings and developments through keynote speeches, thematic seminars, poster presentations, and other formats, actively discussing new trends and opportunities in food science and technology development, and jointly addressing major challenges in the global food and nutrition health field.
During the conference, Professor Weihong Lu and Postdoctoral Associate Researcher Yishu Yin delivered thematic presentations.
The ASRTU China-Russia Conference on Innovative Food Science and Equipment is a key international academic exchange platform jointly established by HIT and ITMO University within the framework of the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities. Since the first conference in 2013, it has established a routine of rotating between China and Russia every two years. The successful holding of the 6th conference not only continued the high-level, international academic tradition of the series but also further deepened Sino-Russian cooperation in food science and technology, promoted industry-university-research collaborative development, and continuously facilitated practical cooperation and mutual progress in scientific and technological innovation between the two countries.
